MSI is preparing to release a variety of motherboards based on the Intel Z890 chipset for the new Arrow Lake-S (Core Ultra 200K) desktop processors. The VideoCardz portal reports that one of the unnamed retailers shared with it images of future new products.
At the start of sales of new Intel processors, MSI will release new board models within its proprietary PRO, MAG, MPG and MEG series.
First on the list is the budget model PRO Z890A-WIFI. Judging by the images of the new product, it has three PCIe x16 slots and four DIMM slots for DDR5 RAM.
Since only images of the boards are available at the moment, there is no point in speculating on their characteristics. However, an important detail should be noted – MSI boards, even those in the lower price segment, are equipped with an additional 8-pin power connector for high-performance video cards. In other words, this feature is present not only in expensive board models.
The MAG Tomahawk series of motherboards, which has become a real popular choice, will be replenished with a new model in completely black coloring.
The circuit design of the board is very similar to that of the PRO model. The only noticeable difference is the cooling radiators.
MSI has its own series of Gaming Plus boards, characterized by a black color scheme with blue and gray lines.
It is noteworthy that the appearance of the Z890 Gaming Plus board does not match the color of the Gaming series video cards.
Belonging to the older segment, the MEG Z890 ACE model is the younger sister of the flagship GODLIKE model. The Z890 ACE has a completely new design and is equipped with three PCIe x16 slots.
The image of the rear panel of connectors on the Z890 ACE board also indicates the presence of support for the Thunderbolt 4 interface, 10-Gbit LAN and Wi-Fi 7. The “Smart Button” button on the same connector panel can be programmed to perform a particular function. Next to it are the update and reset BIOS settings buttons.
MSI will unveil its Intel Z890 family of motherboards on October 10th. The new boards are expected to go on sale starting October 24, along with the release of Core Ultra 200K processors. This will be the first generation of boards with the new LGA-1851 processor socket.
