Meizu presented the almost flagship smartphone Lucky 08 with an AI button, an advanced screen and a capacious battery starting from $230

Meizu held a presentation of its new smartphone Lucky 08, which the company has been calling an “AI flagship” since its announcement, although the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset used in the phone is not a flagship. The new product offers a design atypical for Meizu combined with decent technical characteristics. The cost of the device, depending on the size of RAM and built-in storage, ranges from 1599 to 2099 yuan (21,000 – 27,700 rubles).

The smartphone is equipped with a 6.78-inch diagonal LTPO OLED panel, 1.5K resolution, frame rate up to 144 Hz and a hole-punch for the front camera. Peak screen brightness is 5000 cd/m². PWM backlight brightness adjustment with a frequency of 2160 Hz ensures long-term use of devices without eye fatigue. The frames around the screen are 1.75 mm thick.

On the back of the phone there is a round camera block, atypical for Meizu, which includes two lenses and a flash. The main camera is built on a 1/1.67-inch Samsung S5KHM6s sensor with a resolution of 108 megapixels. The macro camera has a resolution of 2 MP, and the front camera is 8 MP.

Meizu Lucky 08 has a 6000 mAh battery. The device supports 33W fast wired charging. According to the manufacturer, the smartphone is capable of providing two days of full operation on a full charge.

The updated proprietary Flyme AIOS shell offers more than 100 artificial intelligence functions, such as smart search, automatic call answering or music recognition. The red power button on the side of the phone is now also used to interact with the AI.

The phone has an NFC module installed. There is an infrared port that allows you to use your smartphone as an IR remote control. The device is offered in two “space” color options – Meteorite Black and Star White.

Meizu Lucky 08 with 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB storage capacity is estimated by the manufacturer at 1,599 yuan ($230 or 21,000 rubles), for a configuration with 12 GB of RAM and a 256 GB storage capacity you will have to pay 1,799 yuan ($255 or 23,700 rubles), and the version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage costs 2,099 yuan ($300 or 27,700 rubles). Pre-orders are accepted from September 25th.
