Pinterest users can now create collages and mood boards based on existing collages. To do this, the developers have integrated a new “Remix” function, which will allow you to quickly start working on a collage if you lack your own ideas.
The Remix feature lets you add your own images, text, or drawings to existing collages. If the user does not want other people to add anything to his mood board, then the remix function can be blocked.
Pinterest first introduced collages in the Shuffles app in 2022, allowing users to “cut out” images and arrange them on a single canvas to create mood boards, style guides, and other interesting visual compilations. The feature arrived in the main Pinterest app in 2023, and since the start of the year, the platform says it has seen a 418% increase in collages.
To find a collage for a remix, you need to click the corresponding button in the collage editing menu. A Remix button also appears in the lower right corner when viewing collages that can be used as sources. When you post collages based on someone else’s work, Pinterest will post a link to the original and its author.
In addition to this, Pinterest makes it easy to share collages. Users can turn their collage into a video and upload it to social networks. The new remix and collage sharing features are rolling out and will soon be available to Pinterest app users on iOS and Android devices.
