The modified version of the project, called Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Reforged, will delight fans of the genre with an improved picture with support for 4K resolution. The authors redrew all the backdrops, improved the sprite animation and provided the game with better sound.

Steam users greeted the updated version of the quest with warmth, leaving 98 reviews (97% rating) at the time of publication of the material. Gamers praise the developers for the redesigned picture and high-quality animations. But some problems with sound became almost the only reason for dissatisfaction. Here are selected quotes from the owners of the Regorged edition:

«Exemplary quest remaster. Twenty times on each screen I pressed TAB to see what had been redrawn or completed. […] But overall the visual is my respect. The original now looks very old in comparison,” wrote someone named Katarn.

«Praise to the creators, I will definitely go through and savor this forgotten atmosphere, which was conveyed simply brilliantly from the first frames. I hope for the same remake of Broken Sword 2: the Smoking Mirror,” QuinterGame responded enthusiastically.

«Sound problems are everywhere and it’s really annoying. Dialogue sounds muffled and volume levels vary throughout. When you talk to the policeman outside the cafe, you can barely hear anything. Then suddenly, as George is talking to himself, the sound gets loud again. I had to rely on subtitles to just follow what was happening,” said ChallAcc.

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Reforged is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S. The Nintendo Switch version will be released next month.
