MSI is preparing to release the MEG Z890 Unify-X motherboard for enthusiasts. The new product is equipped with an Intel LGA 1851 processor socket and is designed for use with Arrow Lake-S processors. The first images of the board, as well as its characteristics, were shared by one of the users of the social network X.

MSI did not release Unify-X models as part of the AMD 600 series or Intel 700 series chipset series. Previously, the company released Unify-X boards on AMD X570 chipsets, as well as on Intel Z590 and Z690.

Judging by the first images, MSI has abandoned the all-black design of the board that characterized the Unify-X models of previous generations, moving to a black and silver design theme for the new MEG Z890 Unify-X. At the same time, the new product has retained a feature typical of these board models: it is equipped with only two slots for RAM, which contributes to more efficient and stable overclocking. Unfortunately, there are currently no details about supported RAM. According to rumors, Intel Z890 boards will receive support for DDR5 CUDIMM memory technology and will be able to seamlessly work with RAM modules at speeds of up to 10,000 MT/s.

It is known that the MEG Z890 Unify-X will offer two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, one PCIe 4.0 x16 and one PCIe 4.0 x1. The new product is also equipped with six M.2 connectors for NVMe drives, two of which support the installation of PCIe 5.0 SSDs. The rest will work with PCIe 4.0. The board will also offer support for Wi-Fi 7 and a 5-Gbit network adapter.

MEG Z890 Unify-X is built on an eight-layer PCB and is equipped with a 23-phase VRM power subsystem with a 20+1+1+1 phase pattern. Each phase is designed for a current of 110 A. Additionally, the board received an 8-pin connector for high-performance video cards. The specified connector is located at the bottom of the board.

MSI is expected to officially unveil the MEG Z890 Unify-X next month, closer to the official announcement of the new Core Ultra 200K desktop processors, which is expected on October 10th.
