Huawei has announced the start of global sales of the MatePad Pro 12.2 and MatePad 12 X tablets, presented in China in August. The new products offer large displays and proprietary Kirin processors.
MatePad Pro 12.2 is equipped with a dual-layer 12.2-inch Tandem OLED screen with PaperMatte technology. The screen resolution is 2800 × 1840 pixels, refresh rate is up to 144 Hz, contrast ratio is 2,000,000:1, and peak brightness is 2000 cd/m2. It also reports TÜV Rheinland Reflection-Free Certification and TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display 3.0 Certification, which ensures long-term use of the device without excessive eye strain.
Thanks to nano-etching technology, PaperMatte’s screen has an anti-reflective surface, providing a comfortable reading and viewing experience just like a real book or magazine. It also reports support for active stylus input.
The tablet will receive a Kirin 9000S chip, the tablet’s RAM capacity is 12 GB, and the flash drive capacity is 256 or 512 GB. On the back panel there is a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus and an 8-megapixel camera with fixed focus. The front camera resolution is 16 megapixels. The thickness of the MatePad Pro 12.2 case is 5.5 mm, weight – 508 g. A capacious 10,100 mAh battery supports fast wired charging with a power of 100 W.
The MatePad 12 X tablet is offered in China under the name MatePad Air. It is equipped with a 12-inch IPS display with PaperMatte technology, a resolution of 2800 × 1840 pixels, a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m2 and support for the Huawei M-Pencil stylus.
The tablet is based on an eight-core Kirin T90A chip and has 8 or 12 GB of RAM, as well as a 256 GB flash drive. The battery capacity of the new product is the same as that of the MatePad Pro 12.2, as well as the camera configuration. The MatePad 12 X is 5.9 mm thick and weighs 555 g.
The price of the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2” 12/256 GB complete with a keyboard case is €849, and the MatePad Pro 12.2” PaperMatte 12/512 GB version with a keyboard costs €999.
The price of the Huawei MatePad 12 X 8/256 GB model, also equipped with a keyboard, starts at €569, and the MatePad 12 X PaperMatte 12/256 GB + keyboard version will cost €649.
