Amazon launched its own AI video generator – it will create advertising

Amid competition with Google, Amazon announced the launch of an AI tool for quickly creating video ads. Video Generator, introduced at Accelerate, allows you to transform just one product image into an engaging video showcasing the product’s features.

Although the functionality of the tool is still limited, TechCrunch writes, it already allows you to create custom videos at no additional cost. “Videos created with Video Generator leverage Amazon’s unique retail knowledge and present the product in a way that makes it most appealing to customers,” the company said in a blog post. The video generator is currently in beta testing and is available to a limited number of advertisers in the United States. Amazon Ads Vice President Jay Richman said the tool will be refined before a wider launch.

Also included with Video Generator is Live Image, which generates short animated GIFs from static images. This feature, currently in beta, is part of Image Generator, Amazon’s suite of AI-powered image generation tools.

It should be noted that Amazon’s entry into the generative video market occurs against the backdrop of the active development of this technology by other companies. In particular, startups Runway and Luma recently launched a video generation API, Google has begun integrating its Veo model into YouTube Shorts, Adobe promises to add video generation functionality to the Creative Suite by the end of the year, and OpenAI plans to open its Sora technology to the general public by the end of the fall. .

Amazon has not yet provided examples of videos created using the new tools, or disclosed details about the maximum length and resolution of the generated videos.
