Asgard introduced DDR5 CUDIMM memory with stable overclocking to 9600 MT/s

Asgard has introduced a set of Thor DDR5 CUDIMM memory modules with unprecedented high speed. The new memory set is capable of operating at speeds up to 9600 MT/s and significantly exceeds the capabilities of previous high-speed DDR5 modules.

The secret to Thor DDR5’s high performance lies in the fact that it is a CUDIMM (Clocked Unbuffered Dual In-Line Memory Module). Unlike conventional DIMM sticks, the latest CUDIMMs are equipped with their own clock generator, which regenerates the clock signal, increasing stability at high frequencies, which allows memory modules to reach higher frequencies. “The clock generator on Thor DDR5 memory modules eliminates bottlenecks by improving signal transfer between the processor and DRAM,” the company says. This is what makes the Thor DDR5 the fastest DDR5 RAM kit available right now.

The demonstration showed that the Asgard Thor memory kit operates at a frequency of 4800 MT/s, which, taking into account the operation of Intel processors in 2:1 mode, corresponds to an effective speed of 9600 MT/s. In the CPU-z utility window you can see all the necessary information about Asgard Thor memory, including the DRAM manufacturer (SK hynix) and the CAS Latency value – CL44.

It’s important to note that DDR5 9600 MT/s performance at CL44 timings is roughly equivalent to DDR5-6400 performance at CL30 timings. This is an impressive result that provides both high speed and greater throughput. Asgard says the new memory is compatible with the latest AMD and Intel platforms, capable of supporting much higher frequencies than their predecessors. Interestingly, during the demo, the memory kit was running in Gear 2 mode, but it was not specified which motherboard and processor were used.

Thanks to support for Intel XMP, Asgard Thor memory will be able to automatically apply optimized settings and operate at a voltage of just 1.5 V. The company also emphasizes that it uses third-generation chips that comply with JEDEC standards, ensuring better compatibility and reliability on new platforms. Thor DDR5 will be available in two color options: Polar Night (black) and Silver Lightning.
