This week, Apple distributed a message to Apple Store employees that the iPhone 16 will not come with branded stickers in the box, reports 9to5Mac. Buyers of new phones will be able to receive stickers upon request.
Customers purchasing iPhone 16 from the Apple Store will be able to request branded stickers at the time of purchase; otherwise, they will not be available. Third-party retailers and mobile operators acting as partners of the company did not receive these souvenirs; Stickers also cannot be obtained by ordering an iPhone 16 for home delivery.
This innovation is part of the company’s environmental strategy and its ambition to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2030. Apple emphasized that the packaging of the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro is made entirely from fiber materials, and by next year the packaging will contain no plastic at all.
The company’s latest initiative marks the end of an era, but it won’t come as a surprise. In February, Apple Vision Pro buyers noticed the lack of stickers in the box. There were no stickers in the packaging of the new iPad Pro and iPad Air, which were released in May.
