Already on September 29, the skate simulator Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater from Activision will turn 25 years old and, according to the famous skateboarder Tony Hawk, the company will not leave fans empty-handed on the anniversary.
Talk of a potential Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 25th anniversary celebration came up during Hawk’s recent interview with YouTube channel Mythical Kitchen (segment starts at 25:21).
Hawk publicly confirmed for the first time that he is back in touch with Activision and is working with it on some kind of joint project related to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. “Crazy exciting,” the skateboarder added.
For obvious reasons, Hawke did not go into details, but shared his thoughts on how the future announcement will be received by fans of the series: “I think the fans will really appreciate it.”
Neither Activision nor its owner Microsoft have announced plans for a continuation of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series. The latest release in the franchise remains the collection Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, released in 2020.
The summer before last, Hawk said that Activision was planning to release a collection of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, but after Blizzard absorbed the Vicarious Visions studio in 2022, it could not find a suitable development partner.
