Report from the TECNO stand at IFA 2024: AI development strategy, new laptops, mini gaming PC, wearable electronics and more

Recently, one of the world’s largest electronics exhibitions, IFA 2024, took place in Berlin. At this event, TECNO presented its own strategy for the development of artificial intelligence systems, and also showed off its latest laptops and computers. Here we will tell you in more detail about all the new products that we saw at the TECNO stand.

TECNO has chosen a very promising AI development strategy – the company wants to make this technology practical. AI capabilities will evolve to improve productivity, provide value, and facilitate creative processes for users. At the same time, the company intends to carry out deep localization of technologies, providing support for various languages ​​and understanding the cultural characteristics of users from different regions, as well as integration with local applications, for example, for ordering a taxi or deliveries.

The centerpiece of TECNO’s AI will be the updated Ella AI Assistant, integrated with Google Gemini. The improved Ella AI assistant has learned to support more complex dialogues with users; it will help in planning the day, as well as in solving everyday problems, for example, suggesting a recipe.

There will also be a real-time translation function, both for text and voice, for example, in telephone conversations. AI Writing features offer users powerful tools for working with texts: AI can summarize long documents, generate texts and rewrite them in different styles. And AI Search will allow users to quickly find information, for example, get a recipe from a photo or find a product from a picture by simply circling it on the screen.

Creative tools are also celebrated. AI Artboard lets you create images based on text queries, while AI Image Editing helps you edit photos by removing unwanted objects and enhancing portraits. And for working with video, TECNO will offer AI Video Production, which will help in writing the script or write subtitles.

TECNO MEGABOOK K16S

As part of IFA, TECNO also introduced the updated MEGABOOK K16S laptop, which is suitable for work, study and entertainment. The new product received a six-core AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor with a frequency of 4.3 GHz. It is complemented by up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and a solid-state drive of up to 1 TB. The manufacturer also notes an efficient and quiet cooling system.

TECNO MEGABOOK K16S

The laptop has a 16-inch display on an IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 60 Hz and thin frames – the screen occupies 91% of the inner surface of the laptop lid. The body is made entirely of metal. The laptop received a capacious 70 Wh battery, which will provide up to 17.5 hours of battery life.

TECNO MEGABOOK T16 Pro Ultra

TECNO showed off many other laptops, including models with AI acceleration. For example, MEGABOOK T16 Pro Ultra offers the latest Intel Core Ultra processors and is capable of running locally neural networks for generating images, as well as AI algorithms for working with text. This is the most powerful laptop in the TECNO range, which in addition to a powerful processor with an AI accelerator, offers a 16-inch 2.5K screen and a very capacious 99.99 Wh battery.

TECNO MEGA MINI Gaming G1

TECNO also did not miss the opportunity to demonstrate the compact gaming computer MEGA MINI Gaming G1. It is built on a powerful 14-core Intel Core i9-13900H processor (a simpler version with a 10-core Core i7-13620H is also available), which is complemented by an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 video card. And the main feature of this compact computer is the liquid cooling system, thanks to which It was possible to fit such a productive filling into a compact body, and even ensure very quiet operation.

MEGA MINI Gaming G1 can carry up to 64 GB of DDR5-5200 RAM, and for data storage it has an M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD with a capacity of up to 2 TB. We also note the presence of a 2.5G Ethernet network controller and a wireless adapter with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The picture is completed by an abundance of RGB lighting – after all, this is a compact but powerful gaming PC.

TECNO Watch Pro 2

TECNO also showed off its latest wearable devices. The Watch Pro 2 smartwatch features a large round 1.43-inch display, a classic design and a rich set of functions for monitoring health and sports.

In turn, True 1 Air and Sonic 2 headphones offer not only high-quality sound, but also long battery life – up to 50 and 48 hours, respectively, taking into account recharging from the case. There’s also Hybrid Noise Canceling, and the True 1 Air also offers IPx5 water resistance. And the FreeHear 1 is TECNO’s first open-back headphones that feature powerful bass and a comfortable fit.

Finally, TECNO again showed the public its Dynamic 1 robot dog, the design of which, according to the developers, was inspired by the image of a German shepherd. Let us remind you that the robot has powerful drives with high torque (45 N⋅m/kg) and can easily climb and descend stairs, give a “paw”, jump and carry out many other commands. The robot is able to quickly get up on its “paws” in the event of a fall and move at speeds of up to 3.7 m/s.
