Publisher Ubisoft and developers from the Ubisoft Quebec studio have released a new trailer for the hotly anticipated action role-playing game Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The two-minute video introduces viewers to the surroundings of feudal Japan.
The new trailer, accompanied by the sounds of nature and theme music, demonstrates the diverse flora and fauna of Assassin’s Creed Shadows – characters appear in the video, but they do not utter a word the entire time.
«Put on your headphones and immerse yourself in the exciting and changing world of feudal Japan. This vast open world is full of unexpected discoveries and wonders,” reads the description of the video.
Viewers noted the game’s similarities to Ghost of Tsushima, the sliding horse (at 0:30), the thick atmosphere and graphical potential. “If there is a game that will make me buy a PS5 Pro, then this is it,” admitted Theorry from the ResetEra forum.
To make the new game deserve the title of the most beautiful in the series, the developers made the scale of the world more realistic, added global illumination with ray tracing and turned to micropolygon technology.
In addition, the team tried to take interactivity to a new level: the environment has destructible elements, and the time of year (you can’t hide under water in winter) and the weather (rain will muffle your steps) affect the gameplay.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is expected to be released on November 15 on PC (Ubisoft Connect, EGS), Mac (App Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and the game will appear on iPad by the end of 2024. The project will be one of the first adapted for PS5 Pro.
