“No more numbers!”: Diablo IV fans have found a way to deal so much damage that the game simply stops calculating it

The gameplay of Diablo IV is inseparable from the numerical values of damage caused to enemies, but users have discovered a bug that allows barbarians to deal so much damage that the game simply stops calculating it.

«We did it, no more numbers!” – exclaimed streamer Rob2628 (see video below) when, instead of specific damage indicators, Diablo IV suddenly started showing infinity symbols.

The maximum amount of damage inflicted by Rob2628 that appeared on the screen was 333 undecillion units, although theoretically the game is able to show seven undecillion units more.

This obscene amount was made possible thanks to the unintentional interaction of the “Spikes” characteristic and the barbarian skill “Whirlwind”, the combination of which allows you to increase the value of the damage dealt without restrictions.

Chinese player 透了个明 & 咸鱼小罗 was the first to discover the loophole, while Rob2628 demonstrated it on YouTube. The trick can only be pulled off in the PTR, where update 2.0 is currently available for testing.

Ironically, the damage limit was reached in an update in which the Diablo IV team sought to “rework the stats to make the information displayed simpler and clearer.”

Testing of update 2.0 will end today, September 11. The full release of the patch is expected on October 8 with the release of the paid story add-on Vessel of Hatred and the start of the sixth content season, “Season of Hate.”
