The smart accessories brand Amazfit presented the Amazfit T-Rex 3 smart watch at the IFA 2024 exhibition in Berlin, which replaces the Amazfit T-Rex 2 model announced in May 2022. Compared to its predecessor, the new product received a number of updates, including a 10% larger screen, which also became twice as bright.
The Amazfit T-Rex 3 smart watch is equipped with a 1.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display (T-Rex 2 had a screen diagonal of 1.39 inches), a resolution of 490 × 480 pixels (326 ppi) and a brightness of 2000 cd/m2. Unlike the previous model, the device’s screen is protected from scratches by durable Gorilla Glass. The smartwatch case, made of durable polymer alloy with a stainless steel bezel, measures 48.5 x 48.5 x 13.75 mm and weighs 68.3 g.
Like the Amazfit T-Rex 2, the new model supports 10 ATM water resistance, meaning the case must withstand pressure equivalent to a hundred meters of water pressure. It is also reported that the Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch is certified for freediving at a depth of up to 45 m.
Amazfit T-Rex 3’s proprietary BioTracker optical sensor can track key health indicators such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), stress levels and breathing rate.
The smartwatch supports 170 different training modes, including running, walking, swimming, freediving, skydiving, surfing, etc. The Bluetooth wireless protocol is used to connect to external devices. It also reports support for GPS and a battery with a capacity of 700 mAh (T-Rex 2 has 500 mAh), providing long-lasting battery life for more than three weeks.
Thanks to AI support, the user can now use the Zepp Flow intelligent assistant to send text messages by dictating them with their voice, add reminders about a future event, and much more.
The release date of Amazfit T-Rex 3, as well as the price, will be known a little later.
