The fantasy action role-playing game Black Myth: Wukong from the Chinese studio Game Science has barely been released, and the developers, according to rumors, are already planning paid add-ons and a full-fledged sequel.
Insider Lunatic Ignus, who predicted the system requirements and the June trailer for Black Myth: Wukong, said that Game Science is planning two add-ons for the game: Buddha, the Bull King and the Jade Emperor may appear in them.
The release of expansions is expected after the release of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox and physical media (announced retail editions do not include a disc), and the announcement will take place next summer (Lunatic Ignus puts it on August 20).
As for the sequel, the sequel to Black Myth: Wukong is allegedly codenamed Black Myth: Jiang Ziya and, judging by the subtitle, will offer to take control not of the monkey king Sun Wukong, but of the Chinese strategist Jiang Ziya.
According to Lunatic Ignus, Buddha and the Jade Emperor, as well as the deity Nezha, will receive increased attention in the new game – an insider allegedly found sound files associated with the characters.
Lunatic Ignus also added that Black Myth: Wukong was originally supposed to have 13 chapters, but due to budget restrictions Game Science allegedly reduced the number to six, which were included in the final release.
Black Myth: Wukong was released on August 20 on PC (Steam, EGS, WePlay) and PS5, but the version for Xbox Series X and S is delayed. Within three days of release, sales reached 10 million copies. The game is based on the Chinese novel Journey to the West.
