Optimization was not included in the deal: the final system requirements of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown outraged players

Before the release of the open-world racing arcade game Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, there is nothing left in extended access, and therefore the developers from KT Racing presented the final system requirements of the game.

Let us remind you that the release of the June demo of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown on Steam was already accompanied by the publication of system requirements, but the “appetites” of the game had changed for the full premiere.

Like many recent releases, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown was designed with upscalers in mind, so the configurations below use AMD FSR 2 and/or Nvidia DLSS scaling settings.

The system requirements for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown are as follows:

Minimum Requirements (1080p, 30fps, low graphics settings, AMD FSR 2 in Ultra Performance mode)

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X;
  • Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 (6 GB), AMD Radeon RX 480 (8 GB) or Intel Arc A380 (6 GB);
  • RAM: 12 GB;
  • Disk space: 50 GB (SSD required).

Recommended Requirements (1080p, 60fps, medium graphics settings, AMD FSR 2 / Nvidia DLSS in Balance mode)

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-11700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X;
  • Video card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 (8 GB), AMD Radeon RX 6650 (8 GB) or Intel Arc A380 (6 GB);
  • RAM: 12 GB;
  • Disk space: 50 GB (SSD required).

It is worth noting that FSR 2 on “Ultra Performance” scales the image to 1080p from a resolution three times lower, that is, only 360p. In Balance mode, the zoom is 1.7x (from 635p to 1080p).

Users in the comments to the announcement were outraged by the requirements against the background of not the most breakthrough graphics and in absentia reproached the developers of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown for insufficient optimization of the game.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will be released on September 12 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and owners of the gold edition will have access on the 5th. The game will require a constant Internet connection.
