BioWare Explains Morrigan’s Appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Confirms Feature from Baldur’s Gate 3

There are less than two months left before the release of the fantasy role-playing game Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and developers from the BioWare studio decided to answer user questions on Discord.

The Q&A session that took place the other day in the official BioWare Discord community touched on a variety of topics: from available options and features of companions to the design of the witch Morrigan.

The developers have confirmed that following Baldur’s Gate 3, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will have the ability to turn off nudity and sexual content, as well as the option to customize characters’ underwear.

Almost 10 years have passed since Morrigan’s last appearance in Dragon Age.

As for Morrigan, the witch of the Wild appeared in the Dragon Age: The Veilguard release date trailer and surprised fans with her design. Creative director John Epler undertook to motivate the changes.

According to Epler, in the new game, Morrigan comes to terms with many truths about herself and her mother, which is why she appears wearing the Flemeth crown or a variation thereof: “It speaks to her own journey, which I would call accepting herself and her connection to Flemeth.”

What else did the developers of Dragon Age: The Veilguard talk about during the Q&A session:

  • Characters created in the editor can be saved so as not to start the process all over again each time;
  • The mini-map, digital display of damage done, indicators, health scale and other interface elements can be disabled;
  • It will again be possible to give gifts to companions (they will be presented in the ally’s room);
  • Companions can meet in the game world, even if they are not part of the squad at the moment;
  • You won’t be able to have an affair with anyone outside of your satellites;
  • Allies will be able to not only start romantic relationships with each other, but also develop friendships or even rivalries;
  • The availability of some quests will depend on the progress of the plot and/or the player’s decisions (the user will be warned about this).

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is expected to release on October 31 on PC (Steam, EGS, EA App), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Last week, the developers demonstrated 10 minutes of combat gameplay for a high-level warrior.
