ASRock has introduced seven motherboards based on AMD X870E and X870 chipsets for Ryzen 9000 processors in Socket AM5: X870E Taichi, X870E Taichi Lite, X870E Nova WiFi, X870 Steel Legend WiFi, X870 Riptide WiFi, X870 PRO RS WiFi and X870 PRO RS . The boards also support previous generation chips – Ryzen 8000 and Ryzen 7000.
All presented motherboard models, with the exception of the X870 PRO RS, support Wi-Fi 7. All new products have one PCIe 5.0 x16 connector, and the X870E Taichi and X870E Taichi Lite models have two of them. Also, all have one M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 slot and offer at least one PCIe 4.0 x4 for NVMe drives.
Almost all boards received one PCIe 4.0 x16 connector. The exception is the X870E Nova WiFi model, which instead offers one PCIe 3.0 x16 and PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. Also, all new products offer two USB4 (Type-C) ports and one USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C. Depending on the model, the boards are equipped with a different number of additional USB ports. Models X870E Taichi, X870E Taichi Lite and X870E Nova WiFi received 5-Gbit network adapters. All other boards are equipped with 2.5 Gbit LAN.
Perhaps, among the other presented board models, the X870E Taichi and X870E Taichi Lite especially stand out. Each of them received a very powerful 27-phase VRM power subsystem with a 24+2+1 phase circuit.
All boards are also equipped with mechanisms for easy installation of NVMe drives. A number of older models also offer mechanisms for simplified removal of video cards.
