Qualcomm has scheduled a conference for September 4 with the participation of the head of the company, Cristiano Amon. It was previously reported that the manufacturer is preparing to release another Snapdragon X series processor for laptops. The chip will be the second in the Plus family and the first eight-core model based on the Oryon architecture.
Qualcomm has promised that Snapdragon laptops starting at $700 will hit the market next year. They will use the upcoming nuclear Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100. Apparently, it will be significantly slower in terms of integrated graphics compared to older models. It is known that the performance of its GPU will be only 1.7 Tflops, while the older Snapdragon X Elite models have graphics performance of 4.6 Tflops.
From the latest leak it became known that the younger chip will receive support for up to three external displays with 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The processor also contains an AI unit (NPU) with a performance of 45 TOPS, like other Snapdragon X models.
Qualcomm has not confirmed that it will unveil the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 directly at the September event. However, the conference will definitely be dedicated to this particular line of processors, as follows from the announcement. The event can be followed via live broadcast.
