Peak online Deadlock on Steam has already exceeded 100 thousand people, although the game is available by invitation only

The closed alpha testing of Valve’s hero shooter Deadlock, currently underway on Steam, continues to amaze with its popularity: along with the first major patch after its announcement, the game set a new personal record for peak online play.

Let us remind you that Valve officially confirmed the existence of Deadlock last weekend, and by the beginning of the working week, Valve’s new development attracted over 90 thousand concurrent players.

According to the SteamDB portal, on the night of August 30, the closed “alpha” Deadlock updated its personal record – the peak online test version of the hero shooter on Steam exceeded 106,447 people.

Deadlock’s achievement has already secured it a place in the top 150 Steam games for peak online play – ahead of Doom Eternal (104.9K) and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (103.3K) – despite existing availability restrictions.

The fact is that within the closed “alpha” you can only gain access to Deadlock through an invitation from a friend on Steam who is already participating in testing. In other words, the audience for the project is currently extremely limited.

As for the patch, the August 29 update brought with it about 300 changes, including wall jumping mechanics, a redesigned profile page, restrictions on pausing the game, balance adjustments, and bug fixes.

Deadlock does not have a release date yet, but there is a page on Steam that is designed in violation of the site’s rules. Battles take place in a 6v6 format on a four-line MOBA-style map.
