AMD has released another processor in the Ryzen 7000X3D series – the six-core Ryzen 5 7600X3D with additional 3D V-Cache memory. However, this chip can only be purchased in the USA. At the same time, it will be sold exclusively in retail stores of the American retailer Micro Center. Moreover, you won’t be able to buy the chip separately: it will be offered as a kit with the motherboard and RAM modules.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that AMD has exclusively collaborated with Micro Center on the release of a new processor model. Previously, both companies teamed up to release the Ryzen 5 5600X3D chip based on Zen 3, which was also sold only at this American retail chain.
«We are pleased to once again partner with AMD to bring cutting-edge processor technology to our customers. The Ryzen 5 7600X3D represents a significant step forward in making high-performance processors with larger caches more accessible to a wider range of PC enthusiasts,” said Warren Beneson, director of marketing at Micro Center.
The Ryzen 5 7600X3D has a suggested price of $299.99, making it the most affordable Zen 4 processor with 3D V-Cache. It’s more expensive than the regular Ryzen 5 7600X, which sells for $229 at the same store, but not only has larger cache, but also higher clock speeds and an unlocked multiplier for extra overclocking.
The Ryzen 5 7600X3D has six Zen 4 cores with support for 12 virtual threads, and operating frequencies range from 4.10 to 4.70 GHz. In total, the processor has 96 MB of L3 cache. For comparison, the Ryzen 5 7600X only has 32 MB of L3 cache. Like other Ryzen 7000 processors, the new product supports up to 128 GB of DDR5-5200 RAM and also has 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes. The TDP of the Ryzen 5 7600X3D model is 65 W. It is compatible with Socket AM5 motherboards based on AMD A620, B650, B650E, X670 and X670E chipsets, and also supports RAM overclocking.
As mentioned above, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D will be available only from the American retailer Micro Center and only as part of a kit that includes the Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus Wi-Fi motherboard and 32 GB of dual-channel DDR5-6000 RAM. The kit is priced at $449.99, which is $182 cheaper than purchasing each of these components separately.
