The founder of the independent Canadian studio Freebird Games, Kan Gao, shared two news about games from the series of touching adventures To the Moon on his microblog.
Firstly, the beach branch of the franchise, Just a To the Moon Series Beach Episode, announced the year before last, finally received an exact release date. The release was expected at the end of 2023, but development was delayed.
As it became known, Just a To the Moon Series Beach Episode will be released on September 20 on Steam and possibly GOG. There will be support for English and Chinese at launch, and translation into other languages (along with versions for Mac and Linux) is promised by the end of the year.
«Beach Episode” will send characters familiar from To the Moon, Finding Paradise and Impostor Factory on a resort trip. They promise “a mixture of adventure game and classic RPG aesthetics”, mini-games, puzzles and relaxation.
Secondly, Serenity Forge will help Freebird Games expand the list of target platforms for the original To the Moon. The adventure game debuted in 2011 on PC and has since made its way to mobile devices and Switch.
The minute-and-a-half trailer attached below reveals that To the Moon will also appear on PS5, Xbox Series X and S in the near future. Specific release dates for the port have not been announced.
It was previously reported that Freebird Games is developing a grand one-hour turn-based role-playing game, Last Hour of an Epic To the Moon RPG. Its release is expected in 2024, but nothing has been heard about the project since the November announcement.
