Polish company CD Projekt reported financial results for the first half of the 2024 calendar year and shared up-to-date information about projects in development.
CD Projekt’s revenue for the reporting period amounted to 425 million zlotys (nearly $110 million), which is 30% better than last year. The growth was achieved primarily due to high sales of Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty add-on.
CD Projekt’s net profit in the first six months of 2024 exceeded 170 million zlotys ($44 million) – 88% more than in 2023. The company also increased its financial reserves by 55 million zlotys ($14 million), despite the costs.
CD Projekt CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said the Polaris team (codenamed The Witcher 4) has made “significant progress” and is nearing exit from pre-production.
«Work on Polaris continues. The team is approaching an important milestone, which will mark the end of the pre-production phase,” said Nielubowicz. They plan to begin active production of The Witcher 4 before the end of 2024.
Meanwhile, the Orion team (the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077), which recently added new talented specialists, continues to ramp up development and lay the foundation for the future game.
In addition to Polaris and Orion, CD Projekt Red has Hadar (an RPG in a new franchise) in development. The Molasses Flood studio is still busy with Sirius (a multiplayer action game based on The Witcher), and partners from Fool’s Theory are working on a remake of the first The Witcher.
