Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Watch 5 Active smartwatch in India. The new product supports Bluetooth calls, is equipped with an active noise reduction system, has a 2-inch IPS display and can last up to 18 days on a single battery charge.
The resolution of the 2-inch screen of the Redmi Watch 5 Active is 320 × 385 pixels. The display has a brightness of 500 cd/m2. The watch is assembled in a metal case made of zinc alloy. The new product runs on the HyperOS operating system and can synchronize via Bluetooth 5.3 with any smartphone running Android 6.0 and later, as well as iOS 12 and later using the Mi Fitness companion application.
Redmi Watch 5 Active offers support for over 200 watch faces and over 140 sports modes with automatic workout type detection. The new product also offers a standard set of functions for round-the-clock monitoring of the user’s health, including monitoring heart rate, blood oxygen saturation levels, sleep hygiene and stress levels.
The Redmi Watch 5 Active also claims support for the Amazon Alexa digital assistant, the presence of quick replies to SMS, a phone book of up to 10 numbers, and a numeric keypad for dialing. The smartwatch has IPX8 level protection – it can be immersed in water to a depth of 1 meter.
The autonomy of the device is provided by a 470 mAh battery. According to Redmi, one battery charge will last up to 12 days of watch operation in intensive mode and up to 18 days in less active mode.
Redmi Watch 5 Active will be available in Midnight Black and Matte Silver colors. The cost of the new item is about $33. Open sales of the device in the Indian online store Xiaomi, Amazon India and partners will begin on September 3. There is no word yet on release dates for other markets.
