Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have unveiled a support schedule for their third-person shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 following its upcoming release.

The plan of the authors of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 includes four seasons of paid and free content updates – the first two are expected before the end of this year, and the second pair are announced for 2025.

Free updates are intended for all users of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, while paid updates are intended to please only owners of the season pass (included in the gold and “Ultra” editions).

What free updates to expect for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 after release:

  • First season (starts in September) – support for ultra-wide monitors, private PvE lobbies and a sparring arena on a battle barge;
  • Second season (from October to the end of 2024) – new PvE missions, a “killer” difficulty level, a neo-Volkite pistol and an additional type of enemy;
  • Third season – a new PvE mission and prestige rating in the mode, new PvP maps and mode, an additional type of enemy and an expansion of the battle barge;
  • Season four – horde mode, additional types of enemies and new weapons.

Season Pass purchasers will receive cosmetic items (like armor sets) based on iconic Space Marine chapters. In the first season it will be the Ultramarines, in the second it will be the Dark Angels.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be released on September 9 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, but premium edition buyers will have access four days earlier. The authors recently revealed the system requirements.
