Earlier this month it became known that Huawei is working on creating a smartphone with a flexible screen that folds in three. Now information has emerged that another Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, has also advanced in the development of a similar device.

The GSM Arena portal writes about this with reference to its own informed source. Although no solid evidence has been provided that Xiaomi is planning to release an unusual smartphone, the source of information on the portal is considered trustworthy. The report says that the new smartphone will become part of the Mix line, and its official presentation or prototype demonstration will take place in February at the annual Mobile World Congress exhibition.

If this is indeed the case, then more information about the new Xiaomi smartphone will likely emerge in the coming months. There are six months left before the MWC exhibition, and Xiaomi just last month introduced two folding smartphones, Xiaomi Mix Flip and Xiaomi Mix Fold 4. It is extremely unlikely that a new smartphone will be presented in the near future, since such an announcement will distract consumers’ attention from already released smartphones with a flexible display.
