No sooner had Hollow Knight: Silksong topped the ranking of the most desirable games on Steam than fans had a new hope (even two) of seeing the hotly anticipated sequel to the indie hit Hollow Knight from the Australian Team Cherry.
Japanese publisher and developer Nintendo announced not one, but two upcoming game presentations on its social networks – new releases of the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase and Indie World Showcase.
The events will take place on the same day, August 27, one after another: the Indie World Showcase will begin at 17:00 Moscow time, followed by the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. The broadcast will take place on YouTube.
The total running time will be 40 minutes. Indie World Showcase is dedicated to games from independent developers, and Partner Showcase is dedicated to projects from Nintendo partners. There will be no news about the successor to the Nintendo Switch at these presentations.
It is not specified which games will be shown in the paired edition of the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase and Indie World Showcase, but users in the comments hope for the appearance of Hollow Knight: Silksong.
As noted by members of the thematic community on the Reddit forum who have suffered over the past five years, Hollow Knight: Silksong refers to indie games, and Team Cherry refers to Nintendo partners.
It is worth noting that Hollow Knight: Silksong has not appeared in public since the summer before last, when it participated in the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022. The release was expected in the first half of 2023, but the game was postponed indefinitely.
