Head of development S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Evgeniy Grigorovich and technical producer Evgeniy Kulik, as part of a broadcast from the gamescom 2024 exhibition, answered questions from IGN journalists and showed new footage from the game.
Firstly, the developers assured that they are “quite confident” in the new release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. announced a month ago. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which is why they brought a demo version of the game to gamescom 2024.
Last fall it was reported that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will have four main endings, but according to Grigorovich, there are actually three. The comments admit that one of the ending options may be secret.
At the same time, call this or that outcome of events S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 canonical developers refused. “Players must find their own true ending,” says Kulik.
In addition, IGN presented a one and a half minute gameplay trailer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which contains new gameplay snippets as well as a look at a familiar character.
The video features a mercenary nicknamed Scar, a character known primarily as the protagonist of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. By the way, today, August 22, “Clear Sky” is exactly 16 years old.
Release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is expected on November 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S and Game Pass. They promise a unique world, hardcore gameplay and graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5.
