Kingston introduced DC2000B series server boot SSDs with PCIe 4.0 interface

Kingston Digital, a subsidiary of Kingston Technology, announced the DC2000B family of SSDs, made in the M.2 2280 form factor. These devices, using the PCIe 4.0 x4 (NVMe) interface, are intended for use as boot drives in servers.

The new products are based on 112-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory chips. Built-in power loss protection (PLP) is provided. The operating temperature range extends from 0 to +70 °C. The devices have a built-in aluminum heatsink. Dimensions are 80x22x8.3 mm.

The DC2000B series includes models with capacities of 240, 480 and 960 GB. The sequential read speed reaches 4500, 7000 and 7000 MB/s, respectively, and the sequential write speed reaches 400, 800 and 1300 MB/s. The IOPS value for random reading of data in 4 KB blocks is up to 260 thousand, 530 thousand and 540 thousand, for random writing – up to 18 thousand, 32 thousand and 47 thousand.

The guaranteed volume of recorded information (TBW indicator) is 175 TB for the 240 GB version, 350 TB for the 480 GB model and 700 TB for the 960 GB version. All drives can withstand 0.4 complete writes per day (DWPD) for five years. The stated MTBF value (mean time between failures) is 2 million hours. Maximum power consumption varies from 4.09 to 7.80 W depending on the model. The devices come with a five-year warranty.
