JBL has announced the release of new Tour Pro 3 headphones with Auracast support, head tracking support and a unique charging case. This case, familiar to users from the previous model, has now become even more functional: it can transmit audio over a wireless network (wireless).
One of the key features of the Tour Pro 3 is the charging case. Users can connect it to any USB or analog audio source and the audio will be sent directly to the headphones. JBL claims that a direct connection between the case and headphones via wireless has lower latency and greater stability than Bluetooth.
Tour Pro 3 also comes with support for Auracast, an audio broadcast technology for Bluetooth devices. By pressing a button on the case’s display, you can share your audio with other Auracast-compatible devices, or you can connect to other Auracast broadcasts yourself. “So if you’d rather listen to a game commentator than someone next to you in a noisy café, and your TV is also equipped with Auracast, you can connect your headphones to it,” JBL explained.
Other features of the device include 360-degree spatial (panoramic) sound, head movement tracking, and the presence of a hybrid dual-driver system in each earphone. “A balanced armature driver handles high frequencies, while an 11mm dynamic driver delivers powerful, clear bass,” explains JBL. Moreover, each driver has its own digital-to-analog converter (DAC), which focuses on a specific segment of the frequency range.
There’s also True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0, a windproof design, six microphones and an AI algorithm that all work together to improve call clarity. There is also a built-in equalizer for voice calls, which automatically mutes loud interlocutors and enhances quiet voices.
The JBL Tour Pro 3 headphones will go on sale on September 22. Their price will be $300.
