Exascend is not a well-known company; it specializes in server components. The manufacturer is confident that SSDs of such high capacity will be useful in tasks such as video recording and post-production. The 15.36 TB model is built on 3D TLC NAND memory chips with direct write support, which helps mitigate performance drops when the SLC cache fills.

On one drive board there are 16 NAND chips with a capacity of 1 TB each – and all this fits into a 2.5-inch case with a thickness of 7 mm. This design helps maximize data storage density; The board also contains a hardware power loss protection (PLP) module. Additionally, Exascend SuperCruise technology helps improve recording performance; TCG Opal 2.01 encryption is optionally available.

For applications requiring higher durability, pSLC (pseudo SLC) mode is also available, limiting capacity to 3.84 TB at 5 DWPD – complete write cycles per day. Exascend SA4, SI4 and SE4 drives are available to order now.
