Developers from the Chinese studio Game Science published a statement about the state of the fantasy action role-playing game Black Myth: Wukong at release, and the game itself, meanwhile, continues to amaze with its popularity on Steam.
Since its debut today, Black Myth: Wukong has already received more than 100 thousand reviews on Steam (96% of them positive). Players are dissatisfied mainly with technical aspects (crashes, freezes, bugs).
In a statement released, Game Science “sincerely apologized” for the “sometimes serious issues” currently encountered in the game and promised to prioritize resolving them.
The developers assured that the game went through a lot of internal testing before release, and explained the occurrence of such troubles by the variety of configurations on which Black Myth: Wukong runs.
As for popularity, less than a day after the release, Black Myth: Wukong reached more than 2.223 million concurrent players on Steam – according to this indicator, the new product is already ahead of Counter-Strike 2 (1.818 million) and Palworld (2.101 million).
Black Myth: Wukong’s personal best is the second most successful in Steam history. For more than six years, PUBG: Battlegrounds has remained at the top of the rankings with a peak online figure of 3.257 million people.
Black Myth: Wukong was released on PC (Steam, EGS, WePlay) and PS5, but the version for Xbox Series X and S is delayed. The game was created based on the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West.” Critics called the project an excellent action film.
