Publisher Ubisoft and studio Ubisoft Quebec presented the first development diary for the hotly anticipated action role-playing game Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The five-minute video is dedicated to two styles of play.
Let us remind you that the events of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will unfold in the open world of feudal Japan in 1579. There are two main characters – the dexterous and secretive shinobi Naoe, as well as the legendary dark-skinned samurai Yasuke.
According to the developers, the team tried to make Naoe and Yasuke different from each other in every possible aspect: skill tree, available weapons, equipment, health, movement speed, and so on.
«The best assassin in history,” is how the creators of Shadows speak about Naoe. The heroine is incredibly fast, agile and has “the coolest and most spectacular parkour.” Its gameplay is tied to stealth, which in the new game is “richer than ever.”
Yasuke can also take leaps of faith, but he feels most confident on the ground. The hero is smart and extremely strong: he is able to knock down doors and lift heavy objects that are inaccessible to Naoe.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will allow you to complete quests for any of the two characters, however, there will be moments in the game (previously reported about story missions for one or another hero) tailored specifically for Naoe or Yasuke.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is expected to be released on November 15 on PC (Ubisoft Connect, EGS), Mac (App Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and the game will appear on iPad by the end of 2024. The game will become part of the launcher, which will be called “Animus”.
