Honor will unveil foldable flagship Magic V3 and other new products at IFA in September

The Chinese company Honor plans to announce several new products on September 5, shortly before the start of the annual IFA 2024 event in Berlin. The new flagship folding smartphone Magic V3, tablet computer MagicPad 2 and updated laptop MagicBook Art 14 (2024) will be presented to the general public.

The Honor Magic V3 is incredibly thin for a foldable smartphone. Its folded thickness is only 9.2 mm and its weight is 226 g. In this regard, it is closer to conventional flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (8.6 mm and 232 g) or the iPhone 15 Pro Max (8.3 mm and 221 g) than foldable devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold6 (12.1 mm and 239 g) or Pixel 9 Pro Fold (10.5 mm and 257 g).

Despite such a thin body, the Magic V3 is equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 microprocessor and a capacious 5150 mAh battery (more than any of the previously mentioned smartphones). In addition to this, the device received a powerful camera system that combines a main 50-megapixel sensor with a 50-megapixel periscope module with 3.5x optical zoom and a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor.

As for the retail price of the Magic V3, it is likely to be considerable. According to the source, Honor’s new foldable flagship will cost €2,000, but it will likely be the thinnest foldable smartphone on the European market. There is also no information about the vendor’s plans to release a more affordable Magic Vs3 model in the region.

Along with the smartphone, the Chinese company will present the MagicPad 2 tablet computer. The device is equipped with a 12.3-inch OLED display supporting a resolution of 3000 × 1920 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a peak brightness of 1600 cd/m². The hardware basis of MagicPad 2 will be the sub-flagship Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor from Qualcomm. In addition to this, the tablet will boast a 10,050 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 66 W and an eight-speaker audio system.

Another expected new product is the updated MagicBook Art 14 (2024). Like the Magic V3, it is very thin and light – it is 12.95 mm thick and weighs 1.03 kg. The laptop is equipped with a 14.6-inch OLED display with an aspect ratio of 3:2. The design does not include a webcam built into the body. Instead, the developers have equipped the new product with a removable camera, which is stored on the left side of the laptop and attached to the top using magnets and pins when needed.

According to reports, the MagicBook Art 14 (2024) will come with an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H or Ultra 7 155H processor and Intel Arc graphics. In addition to this, buyers will be able to choose between versions with 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM and a solid-state drive with a capacity of up to 1 TB.
