Steam Deck OLED is now officially compatible with Windows – Valve has released the necessary drivers

The Steam Deck OLED portable console comes with a custom Steam OS operating system from Valve, however, the equipment used in it is also capable of working in Windows 10 and Windows 11 OS environments. Some users independently install the specified OS on this console to run games that are not yet officially supported by the console or emulators. To make their lives easier, Valve has released official Windows drivers for the Steam Deck OLED.

The official Steam Deck account on social network X reported that Windows drivers have become available for the OLED version of the console. This includes drivers for the APU, audio, SD card reader, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Valve also said that before installing Windows on the Steam Deck OLED console, it requires you to first install the latest BIOS firmware, which is part of SteamOS version 3.6.9 or later. Therefore, before installing Windows in any case, it is recommended to first update SteamOS.

Windows drivers for Steam Deck OLED can be downloaded from the official Steam website. Drivers are also available there for the original version of the console with an IPS screen. It should be added that installing Windows requires a license key.

It is also important to clarify that Valve does not provide additional support for Steam Deck owners using the Windows operating system on it. In this case, you will have to deal with all the problems that arise yourself. Fortunately, the community of Steam Deck owners is very active, so the console owner forums will provide the necessary help or answer to this or that question. If insurmountable difficulties arise, you can return to the original Steam OS operating system. You can find out how to do this on this page.
