The release of The Elder Scrolls VI is still far away, so Bethesda Softworks is preparing another entertainment for fans of the Elder Scrolls – the mobile game The Elder Scrolls: Castles with a Fallout Shelter flavor.

Let’s remember that last fall, Bethesda launched early access of The Elder Scrolls: Castles on Android without warning, and in January 2024 it organized a “soft” launch of the project in select regions.

As it became known, the international release of The Elder Scrolls: Castles will take place on September 10 on iOS and Android, where pre-registration is already open. The game will be distributed using a shareware model.

Bethesda calls The Elder Scrolls: Castles the spiritual successor to Fallout Shelter. The new game is a simulator of managing a castle and a dynasty in a fantasy world familiar to fans of The Elder Scrolls.

Players in the role of the right hand of the king/queen will have to build and decorate the castle, train their subjects, send warriors on dangerous missions, appoint heirs, and make key decisions to ensure the prosperity of the kingdom.

Bethesda’s five-minute video with gameplay, details and release date of The Elder Scrolls: Castles received mixed reviews on YouTube (1.3 thousand dislikes per 1 thousand likes). Fans in the comments complain that they didn’t ask Bethesda for such a game.

Players anticipate aggressive monetization and other attributes of F2P projects. “Is this some kind of out-of-season April Fools’ joke?” — Absolutemooreon asks a rhetorical question.
