The Made by Google event will begin on August 13 at 20:00 Moscow time and will be held on the Google campus in Mountain View. Representatives of the press, developers and company employees will attend the presentation in person. Anyone can follow the presentation online on the Google website or on the company’s YouTube channel. There is still time before the start of the broadcast, so you can remember what kind of announcements you should expect from Google today.

Android 15, Gemini and other AI tools

Google is expected to announce new features of the Gemini neural network as the company seeks to compete in this segment with Samsung and Apple. According to the source, the IT giant will present the latest features based on artificial intelligence under the Google AI brand. As for the AI tools themselves, they will include the previously announced Circle to Search function (allows you to search by area selected in the image), as well as Add Me (makes it possible to add people to group photos who were not initially in the photo), Pixel Screenshot (AI screenshot search tool), etc.

With a high degree of probability, during the announcement of Android 15, a lot of time will be devoted to issues of ensuring user security and privacy. Android 15 will come with many new features to improve privacy, including Private Space (space for storing applications under an additional level of authentication), Theft Detection Lock (AI function for detecting the theft of an Android smartphone and then locking it), etc.

Pixel 9 series smartphones

It’s likely that Google’s advanced AI features will appear in the company’s latest hardware products, such as the Pixel 9 series smartphones, which are due to be unveiled today. The manufacturer is expected to introduce the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold models. Thanks to earlier leaks, a lot is already known about each new Google smartphone:

  • Pixel 9 is the base version of the device with a 6.3-inch Actua display. The device is expected to receive 12 GB of RAM, a 10.5-megapixel front camera, as well as a dual main camera that will combine a 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor.
  • The Pixel 9 Pro is a more advanced version of the smartphone with a 6.3-inch Super Actu display, which means higher brightness than the base model. In addition to this, the device can get 16 GB of RAM, a 42 MP front camera and a triple main camera that combines a 50 MP wide-angle module with a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 48 MP telephoto lens.
  • Pixel 9 Pro XL is a larger version of the Pixel 9 Pro. According to the leaks, it will have a 6.8-inch Super Actu display, but otherwise its specifications will be the same as the Pixel 9 Pro.
  • Pixel 9 Pro Fold – The foldable version of the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to feature a 6.3-inch external Actua display and an 8-inch internal Super Actua display. The device will be equipped with 16 GB of RAM, a 10-megapixel front camera and the same main camera as last year’s Pixel Fold (a 48-megapixel wide-angle sensor is complemented by a 10.8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens).

According to marketing materials, the hardware basis of all four Pixel 9 smartphones will be the proprietary Google Tensor G4 microprocessor. Owners of new products will be able to receive software and security updates for seven years, as well as a year of access to Gemini Advanced features. Buyers will be able to choose between versions of smartphones in different color options.

Pixel Buds Pro 2

It’s been two years since Google released the original Pixel Buds Pro wireless headphones. Although they sounded good and looked stylish, it was time for a next generation model. According to the source, Pixel Buds Pro 2 will adopt the two-color design and so-called “wings” from the original – stabilizing arms that make using the device more comfortable.

Previously published images showed the Pixel Buds Pro 2 in four body colors: charcoal, porcelain, mint and pink. They will come with a charging case, which looks no different from its predecessor. The stand has an LED indicator, likely to show the device’s pairing status and battery level, as well as a USB Type-C interface at the bottom.

As for new functions related to audio playback itself, nothing is known about this at the moment. If Google decides to make the new product better than the original, then we should probably expect improvements in noise reduction and support for spatial audio.

Pixel Watch 3

According to rumors, the new Google smartwatch will be little different from the previous generation model. At the same time, it is expected that the developers will introduce a larger XL model, similar to what happens in the smartphone line, where in addition to the base model there is an XL model with a larger display. The arrival of a larger version of the Pixel Watch 3 will give buyers the choice between 41mm and 45mm versions of the device.

It is logical that the Pixel Watch XL will receive a more capacious battery. It is also known that the new Google smartwatch will receive support for ultra-wideband (UWB), which is important for the implementation of certain functions, such as Find My Device.
