As part of a major presentation of new products, Google today presented the Pixel Watch 3 smart watch. From a distance, it is difficult to distinguish them from the previous Pixel Watch 2 model, but the new product, unlike its predecessor, is offered in two case sizes – 41 and 45 mm.

Inside, the Pixel Watch 3 uses the same Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 wearable processor, as well as a similar array of sensors, including sensors for heart rate, ECG, blood oxygen saturation, thermometer and GPS. The watch also includes a UWB-enabled chip, which allows it to find and track other UWB-enabled devices more accurately than Bluetooth. You can also use your watch to open your car if it supports this feature.

The younger 41mm model of the Pixel Watch 3 is equipped with a 1.2-inch screen, the older 45mm version has a 1.4-inch display. Both have a peak brightness of 2000 cd/m2 and refresh rates from 1 to 60 Hz. The screen frames have become smaller by a millimeter compared to its predecessor.

The Pixel Watch 3 model in a 41 mm case is powered by a 310 mAh battery, the older version received a 420 mAh battery. In both cases, this is more than what the Pixel Watch 2 offered (294 mAh). Google promises that the new Pixel Watch 3 will last up to 24 hours without recharging when the Always On Display is always on. In energy saving mode, the charge will last up to 36 hours. The new smartwatch charges 20% (15 minutes) faster than its predecessor.

Pixel Watch 3 now supports Bluetooth LE Audio, an energy-efficient Bluetooth audio protocol for listening to music. Perhaps the key features of the new Pixel Watch 3 are its software capabilities. For example, the watch received an SOS function, which will independently call the rescue service if it determines that the user does not have a pulse. The manufacturer has also improved the fitness functions of the new device. For example, during cardio exercises, the watch will advise you to choose the required training pace to maintain the desired heart rate. The device also monitors rest after training and tells whether the user is ready for the next one. You can use your watch to control your smartphone cameras, access your Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell, and use Google Maps navigation offline.

The 41mm Pixel Watch 3 with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is priced at $350, while the same configuration for the 45mm model has a price tag of $400. In LTE versions, the cost of each model increases by $100. Pixel Watch 3 will go on sale on September 10.
