As part of the big event, which presented the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphones and the Pixel Watch 3 smartwatch, Google also introduced the new Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless headphones, which are the successor to the Pixel model Buds Pro 2022.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 is powered by Google’s proprietary Tensor A1 processor. The company says it’s very powerful, so much so that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 delivers twice as much active noise cancellation as the original Pixel Buds Pro in the mid-range (400Hz – 2kHz). Moreover, the ANC function adapts to the environment at a frequency of three million times per second.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 are 24% lighter and 27% smaller than the original Pixel Buds Pro. The company says that the new headphone model was developed based on an analysis of images of 45 million different ear shapes, so the new product turned out to be as comfortable as possible for wearing all day long.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 uses 11mm drivers. The headphones support spatial audio with head tracking. They also offer Google Gemini AI support through their proprietary mobile app.

Google notes that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are equipped with directional microphones with a special mesh coating to protect against wind and, thanks to Google AI support, provide additional clarity of sound when talking with the interlocutor. Pixel Buds Pro 2 also have a Find My Device feature to help you find missing items. If an earbud or case is lost, it will make a sound to help you find it. In addition, the headphones can connect to multiple sound sources simultaneously.

Introduced with the headphones, the updated Pixel Buds mobile app offers five preset equalizer settings. Google promises up to 8 hours of operation of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 with noise reduction enabled (12 hours without it) and up to 30 hours of operation with ANC and charging from the case (up to 48 hours with the case and without ANC). The case itself supports wireless charging.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 are available for pre-order on the Google Store in four colors for $229. Their deliveries will begin on September 26.
