Taking into account not only the fact that prices remain high, but also their further increase, we can talk about some intermediate saturation of demand for Tesla Cybertruck electric pickups, since now only expensive trim levels are offered to customers. Starting next year, it will be possible to order an additional block of traction batteries for the pickup truck, adding 208 km to the cruising range.

This accessory was originally advertised by Tesla, but it is still not available for purchase. As Electrek representatives found out, the company now promises to launch the so-called “power reserve extender” for the Cybertruck from the beginning of next year. The parallelepiped-shaped device will be installed in the body against the rear wall of the cabin, reducing the available space in the cargo compartment by about a third in length. The cost of the option will reach $16,000.

It is important to note that the user does not have the right to independently install or dismantle such an additional traction battery. This should only be done by Tesla specialists at the company service. Firstly, it is large and heavy enough for the car owner to manipulate it at home. Secondly, securely securing a heavy battery pack in the body is an important safety requirement. Such a battery will increase the range of the conventional dual-engine version of the Cybertruck from 544 to 752 km; in the case of the three-engine Cyberbeast, an increase is planned from 512 to 704 km. As noted, owners of pickup trucks with such an accessory can have priority in service at Tesla branded services if they need to install it or dismantle it back.
