Almost exactly a year ago, in its financial report, Electronic Arts confirmed that the Jedi action game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor from Respawn Entertainment would be released on PS4 and Xbox One. After 12 months of silence, these versions now have a release date.
As it became known, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for PS4 and Xbox One will go on sale on September 17 for $50 ($80 for a two-generation set) versus $60 on PC and $70 on PS5, Xbox Series X and S.
Electronic Arts did not present a single gameplay footage of the versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for consoles of the previous cycle, but it has already opened pre-orders in foreign digital stores.
The press release for the announcement mentions that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PS4 and Xbox One will include multiple optimization improvements aimed at “maximizing the hardware capabilities” of those consoles.
Recalling the difficulties that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor encountered on the more powerful PS5, Xbox Series X and S, gamers are skeptical about the release. “Last-gen players will love the smooth experience at 5fps,” predicts DCS.
Electronic Arts has also assured that the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will receive an update in the coming weeks with performance and control improvements, gameplay improvements and more.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released on April 28, 2023 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. At launch, the technical component left much to be desired, which did not prevent the project, according to EA, from attracting “millions of players.”
