Released today, August 6, the GeForce Game Ready 560.81 WHQL driver from Nvidia contains not only support for Hunt: Showdown 1896, but also an indication of the imminent announcement of the PC version of the action-RPG Final Fantasy XVI from Square Enix.
As noted by Reddit users, in addition to optimal settings for Chained Together, Dungeonborne, Once Human, Stormgate and The First Descendant, the new Nvidia driver includes a game profile for Final Fantasy XVI.
Support for Final Fantasy XVI is not mentioned in the official list of changes for GeForce Game Ready 560.81 WHQL – with the release of the new version it was found in the software settings of the Nvidia control panel.
In addition to the main game, a demo version also appeared in the list of settings. Square Enix mentioned that Final Fantasy XVI would receive a trial edition on PC in March, but an official announcement has not yet been made.
Despite the prolonged silence on the part of Square Enix, judging by this leaked Nvidia game profile, the Japanese publisher has not abandoned plans for the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI and seems to be preparing for an imminent presentation.
Fans from the ResetEra forum and journalists from the DSOGaming portal suggest that the announcement of the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI is most likely at the upcoming gamescom 2024 exhibition (from August 21 to 25) or its opening ceremony (August 20).
Final Fantasy XVI will be released in June 2023 on PS5. Sales in six days exceeded 3 million copies. It was previously reported that the PC version will have “rather high” requirements, but both story add-ons will be included with the game.
