“So many aspirations and so little time”: Larian told what to expect from two new RPGs after Baldur’s Gate 3

When asked if Larian was going to sacrifice the size of these RPGs by developing two games at once, Vincke replied: “The machine is designed to create large games. We’re destined to make huge, ambitious RPGs and try new things.”

«In fact, we already know what we want from gameplay systems, how to develop them, how to make new elements… and all these [plans] are big,” Vincke intrigues fans in an interview with PC Gamer.

Vincke also reiterated that he is partial to the science fiction genre. “Yes, of course,” said the head of Larian about interest in potentially going beyond fantasy. “So many aspirations and so little time.”

«You’re constantly trying to make sure that players are getting a new experience, trying to avoid repetition and piling on content for the sake of content,” Smith explained Larian’s approach.

Among the upcoming RPGs from Larian Studios there is definitely no Baldur’s Gate 4. Although the studio began work on a sequel to Baldur’s Gate 3 (and an add-on for it), the creators quickly came to their senses.
