“Bring back the physics of the original Titan Quest”: the gameplay demonstration of the sequel to the role-playing action did not go entirely smoothly

Publisher THQ Nordic and German studio Grimlore Games have published a gameplay trailer for their mythological action role-playing game Titan Quest 2. The video was shown as part of the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2024 presentation.

In the presented video material, the developers focused on the combat system. Some of the heroes’ abilities for close and ranged combat, different types of weapons (throwing spears, axes and halberds) and acrobatic stunts were demonstrated.

Also in the video there was a place for demonstrating a special system of modifiers, with the help of which the gamer will be able to fine-tune the capabilities for combat in different situations and with different numbers of opponents.

Judging by the first comments under the video on YouTube, users liked the Titan Quest 2 gameplay captured in the trailer, but with some reservations. The authors of the majority of reviews positively assessed the visual style and music, but did not praise the elaboration of the movements of characters and objects. “Bring back the physics of the original Titan Quest,” said someone rojovision.

Titan Quest 2 does not have a release date yet; the project is being developed for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S.
