Kingston has announced the new NV3 SSD with PCIe 4.0 interface. According to the manufacturer, the NV3 SSD is designed for high-speed tasks with low power consumption and will be available in capacities from 500 GB to 4 TB.
The NV3’s endurance numbers also look good. For the 500 GB option, 160 TBW is stated, for 1 TB and 2 TB – 320 TBW and 640 TBW, respectively. The 4 TB version will receive 1280 TBW.
According to rumors, the official launch of Kingston NV3 will take place on August 5th. Some overseas retailers have already posted preliminary price tags of $49.99 for the 500GB variant and $69.82 for the 1TB variant. However, these prices can only be indicative, since the manufacturer’s recommended retail prices for NV3 for different SSD capacities have not yet been announced.
«It will be interesting to see how the Kingston NV3 performs against its competitors,” experts say. Considering that such drives are often chosen for budget builds and OEMs, it is important that the NV3 SSD solves the problems of the previous generation NV2, providing the stated low power consumption and good value for money.
