Meta✴’s microblogging service and social network Threads continues to gain popularity, reaching 200 million monthly active users in just 13 months since launch. This was announced by the head of Instagram✴ Adam Mosseri.
This significant growth was achieved thanks to the application’s integration with Instagram✴, which allowed it to attract a large number of users at an early stage. Last October, Threads already surpassed 100 million monthly active users. “I hope that Threads can inspire ideas that bring people together so that this amazing community continues to grow,” Mosseri wrote.
Despite its impressive results, Threads still lags behind social network X (Twitter), which Elon Musk said had 600 million monthly active users in May. However, X’s growth has slowed and plateaued at around 251 million daily active users, according to media reports and independent research.
Meta✴ CEO Mark Zuckerberg is confident in Threads’ potential and has set a goal of reaching a billion users. “We are well on our way to creating what looks to be another global social app. We’re seeing deep engagement, and I’m very pleased with the trajectory of what’s happening,” Zuckerberg said.
At the same time, he admits that achieving this goal may take years, but he still treats the project with great enthusiasm and believes in it.
