“The four horsemen will gather again”: the first teaser for the new Darksiders

Darksiders fans had already despaired of seeing a sequel for almost six years since the last serialized part, but the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2024 presentation that took place on August 2 gave them new hope.

At the very end of the half-hour show, publisher THQ Nordic and developers from Texas studio Gunfire Games showed a 50-second teaser for the next game in the Darksiders franchise.

The video shows an ancient cave with coals circling in the air, raised from pools of seething lava. The charred Council – three huge heads carved from otherworldly stone – suddenly comes to life and utters one word: horseman.

Fans greeted the teaser with undisguised delight

Previous Darksiders told about the adventures of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse: War, Death and Fury in numbered games, and Strife in the offshoot Darksiders: Genesis.

Details of the new Darksiders have not been revealed at this stage, but the official PlayStation and Xbox Wire blogs claim that the wait will not be long: “The Four Horsemen will gather again.”
