As it became known, the team is going to present a completely new demo version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl at gamescom 2024 in Cologne, which will be held from August 21 to 25.

Trial version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be available to play for guests of the gamescom 2024 public area (that is, ordinary users). The project will be displayed at the Xbox booth.

It’s worth noting that this won’t be the first appearance of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 at gaming events. In June, GSC brought the shooter to the Summer Game Fest, where journalists tried it out (they were impressed).

Ahead of gamescom 2024 on August 12, GSC Game World will host a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. showcase on Xbox channels. 2: Heart of Chornobyl: interviews with developers, a lot of new gameplay and walkthrough of one of the quests.

Plans to demonstrate the game coincided with the announcement of another postponement: instead of September 5, the release is now expected on November 20. The extra time will allow GSC to resolve more “unforeseen anomalies” (i.e. bugs).

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is being created for PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S and Game Pass. They promise hardcore gameplay, a non-linear story with multiple endings and graphics using Unreal Engine 5.
