DJI will release a very lightweight Neo drone with a price of about $300

Chinese DJI is preparing to release a device called Neo – if you believe unofficial information, it will be the lightest and most inexpensive full-featured drone in the company’s range. This was reported by insider Jasper Ellens.

If you believe unconfirmed reports, in the American retail chain Walmart, the extended DJI Neo Fly More Combo kit will be sold for $329. Typically, such kits include additional batteries, charging hubs and bags, which increase the price, which means that the basic version of the device will cost even less. At the same time, it will support video recording in 4K resolution.

The technical characteristics of the DJI Neo are not yet known, but some conclusions can be drawn from the images of the device. In particular, the drone’s propellers are protected, meaning it can be used safely indoors. There is a flight mode switch on the body of the device. Fly More comes with a professional controller, but judging by the packaging, the DJI Neo will have several control options. In particular, it will be able to take off from the owner’s palm and land on it. There is also talk of an AI-powered object tracking feature – perhaps it will fly around the owner and take pictures of him, and there will be no need for a controller at all.

Unlike the DJI Mini line of devices, the Neo model is not foldable and is more reminiscent of the DJI Avata FPV drones. The release date of the new drone has not been specified, but the leaker suggests that the DJI Neo will go on sale in the coming weeks.
