In anticipation of the Made by Google event scheduled for August 13, data about upcoming new products continues to leak onto the Internet. This time, marketing materials with images of the Pixel Watch 3 smart watch, which is expected to be presented on this day along with the Google Pixel 9 smartphones and other new products from Google, have become public knowledge.
For the first time, the Pixel Watch will be available in two sizes. According to marketing materials published by Android Headlines, the Pixel Watch 3 will be presented in two models with case diameters of 41 and 45 mm. At the same time, the Pixel Watch 3 with a 41 mm case has a 10% larger screen than the Pixel Watch 2 thanks to thinner frames.
The booklet also states that the Pixel Watch 3 has a brighter display – up to 2000 cd/m2, which is twice the peak brightness of the Pixel 2 – as well as 20% faster charging. It is reported that both models will receive up to 24 hours of autonomy with the Always-On Display (AOD) mode activated and up to 36 hours with the new battery saving mode.
This could mean that the Pixel Watch 3 won’t have the “hybrid experience” found in Wear OS 4, which should boost battery life to 100 hours with regular use. At the moment, only OnePlus Watch 2 has this feature.
The marketing materials also mention new fitness features, including the ability to create custom runs, and “audible and tactile cues” that notify the user to speed up or slow down. Additionally, Fitbit’s new Morning Briefing feature will offer a summary of health and fitness metrics to help the user plan their workouts. New features may appear in previous Pixel Watch models in the future.
According to the leak, the Pixel Watch 3 will come with support for Google offline maps, as well as the ability to view Nest Cam and Nest Doorbell live feeds from the Google Home app. In addition, the user will be able to use the smartwatch to switch between photo and video shooting modes when controlling the camera application of the Pixel smartphone.
